The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area has recently proven to be one of the fastest growing in the nation, with a current population of over 800,000.

The local economy continues to grow at a rate that places Baton Rouge in the top half of more than 365 metropolitan areas ranked by the Bureau of Economic Analysis through 2008. Baton Rouge is the seat of state government, and is supported by not only a thriving petrochemical industry, but also by the presence of two major universities, Louisiana State University and Southern University. Baton Rouge also has the thriving Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) providing a variety of programs including avaition based programs at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport. With unemployment well below the national average, an average household income of $61,400, and more than 50% of the available workforce having a college education, the Baton Rouge area is perfectly poised to support and sustain business interests of all types.
